Welcome to BKT
When young people know who they are, it changes everything.
Your identity plays a huge role in how you navigate your sexuality and worldview. Because behind every belief, is a behaviour whether we are aware of it or not. So just imagine what it could look like to partner Christian faith formation with healthy sex education…
The result?
An entire generation of resilient disciples with a healthy sexuality, a.k.a. ‘Big Kids’.
This is why Big Kids’ Table exists.
In every home, the table is more than just a place to eat. It’s a space of connection, conversation, and culture-shaping. Around it, we pass on not only meals but stories, values, and identity. It’s where we learn how to talk, how to listen, how to ask questions and whether it’s safe to do so. The table is a metaphor for discipleship, especially when it comes to forming resilient faith and healthy sexuality in the lives of young people.
Our mission
Big Kids’ Table exists to be an informative, loving perspective and to create safe, honest conversations about Kingdom identity and sexuality for young people of faith.
We aim to see a generation of ‘Big Kids’ that are advocates of Christ in an oversexualised world, with adults around them empowered to love and lead them well.
Our vision
To see ‘Big Kids’ and their communities across Australia confidently navigate complex conversations around sexuality and faith, empowered to bring these discussions into their own spheres of influence and be creators of culture themselves. We envision a culture where every influential adult in a young person’s life is equipped to facilitate these conversations with wisdom and biblical truth.

How we do this
A ‘Big Kid’ is not just someone who matures physically or academically, but someone who has the spiritual, emotional, and moral resilience and maturity to navigate sex, relationships, growing up with Christ at the centre. So, Big Kids’ Table is not just an initiative either, it’s the heartbeat of our organisation, propelling us toward our vision of transforming lives and creating a lasting culture shift.
That is, creating resilient disciples with a healthy sexuality.
Through our programs, consultation and resources that focus on sexual discipleship, BKT equips young people and key stakeholders to navigate faith and sexuality with confidence and biblical wisdom.
It can’t, and can never be just a ‘birds and the bees talk’, a one off, or a few awkward chats about sex. No, this conversation requires ongoing, intentional, and consistent conversations throughout a young person’s developing life.
This is sexual discipleship and this is what we are all about at Big Kids’ Table.
Our Table Manners
The most beautiful moments take place at the table with food, friendship and conversation. Our Table Manners are are key principals of practice.
Everything we do comes back to the following GospeI truth and values:
‘Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. This is how God showed his love among us: He sent His one and only son into the world that we might live through Him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins’
1 John 4:7-10
Full hearts, full tummies
Where there is a meal shared, there is a conversation to be had.
Let's talk
Everybody has questions, everybody has a story. Let’s come together and explore them.
Shoulder to shoulder
We were never meant to live alone. There is power in journeying through life, together.
No artificial colours & flavourings
As we journey together, we will ensure an openness and acceptance for all involved.
Table of honour
We are only as fast as the slowest eater. Everybody deserves time and space to process and that is what they will get.
Our Key Messages
Our desire is that when someone encounters our ministry, they receive the following messages:
God is Love
We believe in a God that defines love, acceptance and celebration. It’s through these truths that our ministry exists.
‘Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.'
John 4:7-10
All are worthy
All people have inherent value and dignity- regardless of their actions and beliefs. This truth shapes all of our conversations.
‘There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.’
Galatians 3:28
Sex is good
The act of sex and experience of sexual desire are God-given and to be fully embraced in holiness, security and without shame.
‘And [they] were both naked and were not ashamed’
Genesis 2:25
‘How beautiful and pleasant you are, o loved one, with all your delights! .... I am my beloved’s, and his desire is for me.’
Song of Songs 7:6,12
No stupid questions
No question or opinion will be discouraged. They will, however, be explored.
‘“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened’
Matthew 7:7-8
Don’t get comfortable.
We're not made to stay still; we're made for continual development and growth. Come as you are with questions and leave as you are with direction.
‘You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self ... be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.’
Ephesians 4:22-24
