Meet The Team

We wouldn't be who we are, or be able to do what we do, without our amazing team of committed individuals. Together, we're passionate about delivering Christian sex education that is biblically grounded, engaging, and equips churches, schools, and families to have life-changing conversations about God, sex, and relationships.

Meet Our Founders!

You can find out more about how they met, and how Big Kids’ Table came to be, over on the Our Story page.

Fav Scripture: Ephesians 3:20-21
Coffee Order: Soy Chai Latte (with leaves…none of that powdered stuff!)

Lauren brings colour, energy, and authenticity wherever she goes she’s often described as the human version of the Gorman brand. Bright, bold, and full of life, you’ll usually hear her before you see her. And yes, she’s a morning person who doesn’t drink coffee, which leaves the rest of us wondering where all that energy comes from!

She lives in Melbourne with her wonderful husband Harry, their daughter Mia, and their much-loved puppy, Humphrey.

Lauren is qualified in teaching, social work, mental health, and alcohol and other drugs. Prior to starting her family in 2023, she spent six years as the Wellbeing Coordinator and a Secondary Teacher at a Christian College in Melbourne. She has developed and led comprehensive sex education programs tailored for Christian education settings and brings a wealth of experience to this space.

Lauren is deeply passionate about creating safe, honest spaces for young people to explore challenging topics and big questions. She believes strongly in the power of intergenerational discipleship and is driven by her love for Jesus and her commitment to others, it’s something you notice straight away.

Cert Theology (currently completing), Cert Mental Health, Cert Responding to Client Needs

Fav Scripture: Philippians 1:3-11

Georgia can rival Lauren for volume, but coffee is a lifeline. She is not, in any way, a morning person. Georgia has an obsession with corduroy and indoor plants; and she has her own pup called Lenny (Leonard when he’s in trouble) and amazing husband, Matt.

Known for her warmth and honesty, Georgia creates a shame-free zone wherever she goes. Georgia is passionate about journeying with people through the valleys and peaks of life and wants to see a generation liberated, equipped and confident with sexuality, faith, and themselves.

Georgia has a decade of experience in church and non-profit youth ministry. She has qualifications in mental health and wellbeing support, a degree in graphic design and is due to complete another in theology. Georgia has also been a school chaplain in several government and Christian schools across Victoria.

Jesus really is her best friend.

BA of Science & Education – Double Degree

Fav Scripture: John 15:5
Coffee Order: Single-Shot Latte

Beth loves connecting with people from all walks of life, and whether she’s exploring a new country or simply striking up a conversation over coffee, she thrives on getting to know people’s stories.
Her energy is second only to Lauren and Georgia and after spending several years living abroad, she has recently returned to Melbourne with her husband, Kristen, ready to bring this enthusiasm into BKT.
You’ll usually find her exploring the mountains and coastline or sharing good food around the table with family and friends. Originally training as a science teacher, Beth pursued education with a desire to positively influence the next generation.
She is passionate about creating safe, authentic conversations around relationships, sex and the wonderfully made human body. Living among people from many different cultures, religions and worldviews has shaped her conviction that, beneath our differences, we all long to belong at a table –  to be welcomed, seen and known.
Beth believes that this longing is ultimately met in Jesus Christ, and she loves helping create spaces where people can explore life’s big questions and experience His invitation to the table.

Joel Maccartney Profile Pic 2025

Joel Maccartney
Workshop Presenter

Certificate IV of Christian Ministry and Theology, Bachelor of Ministry

Fav Scripture: Joshua 1:9
Coffee Order: Hot Chocolate

Joel is all about having fun. He brings a lightness and joy to every space he enters, always on the lookout for a reason to laugh, connect, or celebrate the small things. His ever-present smile is a signature, though it occasionally disappears when Brisbane loses (which isn’t often).

Joel’s life is shaped by three great loves: sport, people, and Jesus. Whether he’s playing cricket, cheering from the sidelines, grabbing a coffee with a mate, or leading a youth group, he’s always doing at least one of those things, often two, and on the best days, all three come together in perfect harmony.

Having completed his Bachelor of Ministry, Joel is now also a Youth Pastor at a local church. He has a deep passion for connecting with young people and creating an environment where they can feel safe, have fun, and be comfortable to explore their faith, ask big questions and encounter Jesus.

Joel brings energy, approachability, and a big heart to everything he does. He’s the kind of person who remembers your name, your story, and your favourite sport – and he’ll probably beat you at it too (in the most humble way possible, of course).

Jazz Gasper
Workshop Presenter

Certificate in Leadership & Theology, Currently Completing a Bachelor of Arts (Psychology)

Fav Scripture: Psalm 84
Coffee Order: Not a huge coffee drinker, but a batch brew goes down a treat.

Jasmine (Jazz) is the kind of person who can turn strangers into friends in a matter of minutes. Full of energy, quick to laugh, and always up for an adventure, she’s passionate about people and bringing joy wherever she goes.

Whether she’s chatting over delicious food, spending time at the beach, or hanging out with young people, you’ll usually find her encouraging someone along the way.

She lives with her wonderful husband, Sach, and their energetic Aussie Shepherd, RayRay, who keeps life… entertaining (chaotic if we’re honest).

Currently studying Psychology, Jazz is passionate about youth ministry, mental health, and helping young people navigate life’s biggest questions with confidence and hope. Her greatest passion is Jesus, who shapes every part of her life and inspires the way she loves, serves, and invests in others.

She believes the most meaningful transformation happens when people encounter both truth and grace, and she’s committed to creating spaces where that can happen.

Rowan Hendrickse
Workshop Presenter

Registered Pastor ACC, Certificate IV of
Ministry, Currently Completing a Theology Degree, Registered Nurse
Div 1

Fav Scripture: Micah 6:8
Coffee Order:Small Long Black

Rowan has spent the past 18 years in pastoral ministry, after beginning his career as a Division 1 Registered Nurse where he also met his wife of 23 years. (Yes, he’s a little older, and yes, he likes to remind people that experience counts!)

When he’s not investing in people, you’ll usually find him travelling overseas with his wife. They recently returned from a cruise through the Baltic Sea, already dreaming about the next adventure.

Rowan firmly believes golf is the greatest game ever invented and is equally convinced that “fun runs” are the biggest false advertising campaign in history.

A self-confessed coffee snob, he’s always on the lookout for the perfect cup, so if you know where the best coffee is, he’d genuinely love to hear about it.

Most of all, Rowan loves spending time with young people, creating spaces where honest conversations about life’s toughest topics can help them make wiser choices and build a better future than the one he
experienced growing up.
