What is Christian Dating? A Biblical View of Dating with Purpose

Christian dating today can feel confusing. Some people treat a first coffee like a marriage proposal. Others avoid clarity altogether and stay in a vague “just hanging out” space. Neither approach is what healthy Christian dating was meant to be. So let’s start with a simple truth: You do not need to marry someone just because you go on a coffee date with them. Dating is not marriage. It is not even engagement. It is a process of getting to know someone with intentionality. What is Christian dating? At its most basic level, dating means: ‘going out with someone you are romantically interested in.’ But in a Christian context, dating is more than attraction or

Term 1 has come and gone already!

Term 1 has flown by, and already we’re reflecting on just how much has been packed into these past few months. Across schools, staff rooms, parent gatherings and classrooms, we’ve had the privilege of sitting at the table with young people and the communities that surround them. The goal? Creating space for honest, thoughtful, and hope-filled conversations about sex, relationships, and faith. Every term brings its own stories, but this one has been particularly rich. Here’s a glimpse into what Term 1 looked like at Big Kids’ Table… Heathdale Christian College Secondary, Werribee Across February and March this year, the Big Kids’ Table team had the privilege of spending time with the secondary students, staff,

What the Adolescence Netflix Series Gets Right (and Wrong) About Christian Sex Education

Judging the Manosphere Louis Theroux’s latest documentary, Inside the Manosphere on Netflix, provokes strong reactions. It is confronting, unsettling, and at times difficult to sit with. For clarity, the Manosphere is a network of online communities where men discuss issues related to masculinity, gender roles, and relationships, however it’s well known for toxic, misogynistic opinions on these matters. For many viewers of the documentary, anger feels like the most immediate and justified response. The ideas circulating within the Manosphere can feel harmful and deeply at odds with the kind of world we want to build and definitely against who Jesus is , who calls us to a radically different way of relating to others marked

Beyond Roblox: Helping Kids Navigate the Online World

Concerns raised in recent reporting about Roblox point to a much bigger challenge facing families as children grow up in increasingly complex digital environments.  The platform has come under scrutiny from the Australian government after allegations that children were exposed to explicit content and targeted by online predators. These reports highlight a reality many parents already sense: the online spaces young people move through today are not neutral. They are environments filled with competing voices and values. At the same time, focusing only on regulation or platform accountability misses part of the picture. The Roblox situation also reflects something deeper about how young people grow and form their identity. Childhood and adolescence are not stages

Porn is banned for under 18s in Australia, now what?

As of 9th March 2026, age checks are required to access ‘high risk’ platforms including pornographic websites, social media services that allow pornographic material, AI services that generate sexually explicit, self-harm or high impact violence material, and online games rated R18+. Previously, all that was required was a tick-box to say someone was over 18, but that is no longer with age assurance mechanisms being required such as face recognition and digital ID. As a result of this, Canadian porn giant, Aylo, who owns Pornhub and RedTube, have stopped Australians from registering accounts and accessing content. This is a huge win for child safety in Australia but also leaves us with many questions. The main

End-of-Year Update: A Big Finish to 2025 🎉

As we wrap up our final update for the year, we can’t help but look back with gratitude and awe at what God has done through Big Kids’ Table in these last few months! From regional Victoria to tropical Queensland, our team has had the privilege of sitting with students, families, teachers, and church communities while helping them explore God’s good design for our bodies, relationships, and sexuality. Here’s a little glimpse into the final stretch of our year: Grade 5-6 at Chairo Leongatha In October Alyssa and Lauren travelled down to Leongatha to spend the morning with the Grade 5–6 students at Chairo Christian School. Together, we explored God’s good design for our bodies

Let’s loop back to how Term 3 2025 ended…clue: with a bang 💥

…this is actually why we’re sharing what we got up to 6 weeks late. It’s just been that busy! Term 3 at BKT wrapped up with an incredible flurry of workshops, travel, and deeply meaningful conversations. Our team found themselves criss-crossing the state – from city auditoriums to country classrooms – bringing BKT to young people and communities keen to explore all things God, sex and relationships. We saw the Lord move in powerful ways (as He always does), and we’re so grateful for every open door and every story shared. In this article, we’ll take you through some of the highlights from Term 3 – and stay tuned, because Term 4 hasn’t slowed down

Can we have a heart-to-heart for a sec?

BKT is five years old in five months. That’s crazy! When I think about the whirlwind that has brought me to this moment, I’m lost for the right words. Am I a little awe-struck? Perhaps. Inspired? Somewhat. Weary? Without a doubt. In that time, I’ve lived in five houses, two regional cities and four postcodes, belonged to four different churches, and held six additional jobs. I have also navigated the entrance of the first BKT baby and all the complexities of running a business alongside a brand new (yet truly amazing) parent, Lauren. It’s been an adventure, but it’s also been hard, gruelling at times, and incredibly worthwhile. In late 2020, my husband and I

God at Work in Term 3 2025 – What a Start!

Term 3 has been filled with so much goodness! From classrooms to youth groups, from parent nights to networking with like-minded organisations, we’ve been reminded again that these conversations about faith, sexuality, and relationships truly matter. Here’s a glimpse at what we’ve been up to, and what’s still ahead. Heathdale Melton Parents & Staff Term three began with an incredible start as Lauren and Georgia joined the staff and parents of Heathdale Christian College (Melton campus) to explore all things sexual discipleship. Together, we unpacked how parents can confidently lead in these conversations while staying up to date with cultural trends and social media shifts, especially when it feels like the pace is overwhelming. From Devonport to Brisbane: Term 2 with Big Kids’ Table

As Term 2 wraps up here in Victoria, our team has been on the move – traveling across Melbourne, jetting up to Brisbane for the 2025 CMA Conference, back to Tassie for more workshops, and spending time deep in classrooms and conversations. It’s been a term packed with travel, curiosity, and most excitingly, big conversations. Back to Tassie – Geneva Christian College In late May, our team returned to Devonport, Tasmania to work with Geneva Christian College. What a joy it was to engage with students from Years 7 to 12 on topics like healthy relationships, dating, consent, sexual anatomy, pornography, alcohol and consent, and what God has to say about it all. Students were
