You said yes to Jesus, that’s amazing. Now what?
Below are some simple steps you can do as you start to explore what being a follower of Christ really means.
Step 1: The Bible
The Bible tells you about God, who He is and what He is like. It’s like a big get to know you.
It is the only book where the author – God! – is always right next to you as you read it. How cool is that?
God speaks to you personally as you read the Bible. We encourage you to read this amazing book everyday and listen to what God speaks to you.
You can get a physical or digital Bible. YouVersion is a great option for a digital version! Not only can you read the bible but also choose your own reading plans.
Step 2: Talk to Jesus
A relationship with God is similar to having a relationship with a friend. You spend time together and sometimes have funny, as well as deep, convos.
How exciting to be able to chat with the God who created you and the whole biiiig universe everyday. There is nothing more exciting than talking to God. The more you do it, the more you get to know Him.
You can talk to God through literally talking to Him with your mouth, with your thoughts, and even journalling things down like a letter to Him. He cares about your thoughts, desires, worries, and life – no matter how big or small things seem!

Step 3: Join a community
God created you to be in community. There are people in your life that want to support you in your relationship with Jesus.
Who is a teacher you feel comfortable chatting with? Who in your family or friendship group knows and follows Jesus? Is there a lunchtime group that meets to talk about faith at your school? Reach out to them and ask them to walk with you on this journey.
Is there a church in your area that has a youth group? A youth group is run by a bunch of people who would be super keen to join this conversation with you. There are also probably students in your level that attend a local youth group too. Ask around and go along with one of them!
Step 4: Getting baptised
Water baptism is a celebration of your decision to follow Jesus!
When you get baptised you get submerged in water and come back up. Did you know that Jesus himself got water baptised too? Check out the book of Mark chapter 1!
Go to your church, youth group, or your safe people who follow Jesus and ask them about being water baptised.
Step 4: Getting baptised
