God at Work in Term 3 2025 – What a Start!

Term 3 has been filled with so much goodness! From classrooms to youth groups, from parent nights to networking with like-minded organisations, we’ve been reminded again that these conversations about faith, sexuality, and relationships truly matter.

Here’s a glimpse at what we’ve been up to, and what’s still ahead.

Heathdale Melton Parents & Staff

Term three began with an incredible start as Lauren and Georgia joined the staff and parents of Heathdale Christian College (Melton campus) to explore all things sexual discipleship. Together, we unpacked how parents can confidently lead in these conversations while staying up to date with cultural trends and social media shifts, especially when it feels like the pace is overwhelming.

Please join us in prayer as we prepare for the upcoming student workshops in just a fortnight’s time. Across the next few weeks, we’ll be engaging with students from Grade 1 right through to Year 12, diving deep into meaningful conversations and facilitating a beautiful, gospel-centred program for the Heathdale Melton community.

Christway College, Wyndham

In late July, Lauren, Joel, and Alyssa spent the day with the Year 9 cohort at Christway College in Wyndham. The students’ curiosity and thoughtful questions led to rich discussion, and five students made the life-changing decision to respond to Jesus, taking away follow-up resources to continue their journey.

A real highlight was seeing the local youth pastor join the workshop, strengthening the partnership between school and church. We were moved by the intentionality of the young men in the group, who committed to fostering a culture of respect for boundaries through their Culture Change Project. The year level also explored what it would mean to build trust and unity so they could have safe spaces to talk about challenging topics like pornography, sexting, and the sexualisation of culture.

It’s one thing to understand the harm of porn and the impact of our hypersexualised culture, but these students went further. They left empowered and equipped to change the culture around them!

Melton Christian College Primary

Georgia and Joel had the joy of working with the Grade 5 and 6 students at Melton Christian College, focusing on puberty education and navigating the online world as they grow up! This was our first visit to the school, and it was a delight to connect with this community. We look forward to returning and partnering with them again across more year levels in the future.

St Mark’s Youth Camberwell

On a recent Friday night, Lauren and Georgia joined St Mark’s Youth in Camberwell to unpack how to make sense of sex, God, and relationships with a focus on how to discern what we truly believe when God is at the centre.

It was a special joy to be with a youth group in the very area where we first came to faith, connecting with a community we’ve grown up around. We love partnering with churches to equip young people in this space and look forward to many more opportunities to serve in the seasons ahead!

CMA Melbourne Morning Tea

Finally, Lauren and Georgia also had the opportunity to attend the CMA Melbourne-based morning tea, where they heard the latest insights from CMA’s fundraising research and connected with like-minded organisations passionate about gospel impact.

We’re still seeking to fill two to three board positions, including a Treasurer and General Board Members, to join our oversight and governance team. Please join us in praying that God would bring forward the right people with the heart, skills, and wisdom to help guide Big Kids’ Table into the future. You can find out more about these roles below!

Looking Ahead…

God has already done so much this term, but we know this is just the beginning.

Please keep praying for the workshops to come, including:

🏫 Heathdale Melton Primary & Secondary
🏫 PLC Year 8
🏫 Red Rock Christian College Primary
🏫 Chairo Taralgon Primary (with a combined session with Chairo Leongatha!)
🏫 Lighthouse Christian College’s Year 9 students

We’re also watching bookings for Term 4 come in, with potential interstate trips to Queensland and beyond. What a joy to be part of what God is doing in schools and churches across Australia!

If you’re keen to bring our programs to your school, parent community, or church, we’d love to hear from you. You can enquire at the links below 👇🏼

Join us as we keep pressing forward, one conversation, one student, one community at a time.

Lives are being changed, culture is shifting, and the gospel is being heard. What a privilege it is to do what we do.

In grace,

Can we have a heart-to-heart for a sec?

BKT is five years old in five months. That’s crazy! When I think about the whirlwind that has brought me to this moment, I’m lost for the right words. Am I a little awe-struck? Perhaps. Inspired? Somewhat. Weary? Without a doubt. In that time, I’ve lived in five houses, two regional cities and four postcodes, belonged to four different churches,
