From Devonport to Brisbane: Term 2 with Big Kids’ Table

As Term 2 wraps up here in Victoria, our team has been on the move – traveling across Melbourne, jetting up to Brisbane for the 2025 CMA Conference, back to Tassie for more workshops, and spending time deep in classrooms and conversations. It’s been a term packed with travel, curiosity, and most excitingly, big conversations.

Back to Tassie – Geneva Christian College

In late May, our team returned to Devonport, Tasmania to work with Geneva Christian College. What a joy it was to engage with students from Years 7 to 12 on topics like healthy relationships, dating, consent, sexual anatomy, pornography, alcohol and consent, and what God has to say about it all. Students were encouraged to consider how their choices align with the kind of people they want to become and what following Jesus could really look like in this context. Across the week 22 young people gave their lives to Jesus for the first time, and 11 others recommitted to walking with Him and wanting to be a positive force in the world. It was an unforgettable time and God did what He does best!

Heathdale Christian College Werribee Primary

It was delightful to head back to Heathdale Christian College Werribee and work with their primary school this time. We spent a full week working with students from Years 1 to 6. Topics ranged from body autonomy and online safety, to puberty, anatomy, and conception – pretty much everything that comes with growing up! It was an incredible opportunity to help young people understand their bodies as good and important, made by God, and deserving of protection. After all, God made our bodies very good! (Gen 1:31).

The Heathdale Christian College school communities have quickly become some of our most encouraging and engaged partners. The students are joyful, respectful, and eager to learn what it means to grow up well, and the staff are amazingly hospitable and encouraging of what we do. Thanks Heathdale!

Year 8 at Lighthouse Christian College Keysborough

At Lighthouse Christian College in Keysborough, we spent the day exploring the impact of pornography – what it does to our brains, relationships, and sense of identity. Together, students reflected on how family, media, and faith shape their beliefs, and were equipped to examine these influences in light of the kind of person they want to become. They also explored what a Christian worldview of sex in marriage looks like and where this actually comes from in scripture, as well as God’s scientific design and purposes for sex (hint: it’s not just to create babies!)

In a powerful moment of response, we were able to facilitate space for students to encounter the gospel. 15 students either gave their lives to Jesus for the first time or recommitted to Jesus and to being positive change-makers in the world around them. It was such a privilege to witness!

CMA Conference 2025: Inspiration in Brisbane

Finally, our founders Georgia and Lauren flew to Brisbane to attend the CMA 2025 Conference. It was such a privilege to rub shoulders with other like-minded, faith-focused nonprofit and church leaders from across the country. We’re endlessly grateful for the support CMA has given us to be there – it was a time of vision, inspiration, and practical encouragement. We’ll be celebrating and revelling in the fruit of that conference for a long time to come… and let’s be honest, the Brizzy sunshine didn’t hurt either! ☀️

We are still looking for a Board Treasurer and general board members. So if you, or someone you know, are interested in these roles you can find out more below and get in touch!

Looking Ahead to Term 3!

As we reflect on Term 2 – with multiple trips to Tasmania, Brisbane, and across Victoria – we’re feeling incredibly grateful for the way our team has grown stronger and more unified. God has been incredibly kind.

Now, we’re gearing up for a full and exciting Term 3 with trips already booked in Melton, Leongatha, Burwood, Sunbury, Traralgon and more. We still have a few spaces available for school or church bookings, so if you’re keen to bring our workshops to your school, parent community, or church, we’d love to hear from you. You can enquire at the links below 👇🏼

Thank you for being part of our community. It’s been 4.5 years since Lauren and I had a covid-idea that stuck. We are constantly in awe of the goodness of God, our provider, and the support we experience from His body (you!)

Remember: yes these topics come with big questions, but our God is bigger. He continues to prove this to us time after time.

In grace,

Georgia Nicholas
